Midfielder Ryan Harpur has signed a new deal at the club which will see him play for the Swifts for another two seasons.
Swifts manager Darren Murphy is over the moon that 24 year old Ryan has agreed to remain at Stangmore Park…
“Ryan joined the Swifts from Glenavon in December 2011 after being released by the Lurgan side. He has since went on to establish himself into one of our more senior players who’s experience and knowhow of Irish League football will hopefully help develop some of the younger players coming through. I’m delighted that Ryan has decided to stay after interest shown in him from other Irish League clubs. Ryan chose to remain loyal to Dungannon Swifts when in the past other players have left Stangmore to move to other clubs when interest was expressed in them”.
The new deal for Harpur comes as another great boost for the club as a whole. Ryan is now the sixth player to commit himself for a further two years, Grant Hutchinson, Fra Brennan, Matthew Hazley, Cameron Grieve and Michael McKerr having done likewise in March of this year.
In other transfer news Dungannon Swifts have been given permission by Loughgall to speak to goalkeeper Gareth Buchanan and centre half Ricky Copeland.
