CONTRACT NEWS | Two Players Sign Extensions and One Exits.

Manager Kris Lindsay, pictured with his new Club Captain, Christopher Hegarty and Vice Captain, Seanan Clucas, who both signed contract extensions tonight.
Ryan Harpur has agreed to join Ballymena United. We are disappointed to lose Ryan and we thank him for his service to Dungannon Swifts. We must also take the opportunity to thank David Jeffrey and Ballymena United for the professional manner that they went about their business.
Moving forward we need players who are committed to Dungannon Swifts and in saying that I am delighted to announce that Christopher Hegarty and Seanan Clucas have tonight agreed new deals with the club.
Chris has signed a 1 year extension keeping him at the club until 2022 and Seanan until 2020.
“I’m delighted to secure the future of both players at Dungannon Swifts. Chris and Seanan are excellent players with the ability, attitude and desire needed in order to push the club forward. They are both local lads and are the type of player that we need to build the club around and that have the club at heart. I’m also pleased to announce that Chris will be the new club captain and seanan vice captain moving forward. They are both great characters in the group and ones that set high standards for themselves and others and as I say I’m delighted to have them on board.” said Manager Kris Lindsay
Chairman Keith Boyd is delighted with the business carried out this evening.
” I am delighted to get two honest, experienced, hardworking, local lads signing extensions for our Club. The loyalty they are showing to Dungannon Swifts means a lot to myself, Kris, the squad and hopefully to all the Supporters. Thanks lads.”
New Club Captain Christopher Hegarty said;
“I’m delighted to sign an extension to my current contract. Obviously I’m even more delighted to be announced as Club Captain of Dungannon Swifts FC. I’ve big boots to fill after Ryan’s departure but I’ll do the best job I can on and off the pitch.”
and Vice Captain Seanan Clucas;
“I’m very happy to have signed an extension on my contract. I’m very happy at the club and since Kris Lindsay has come in, I’ve been able to put performances in where I know I play my best football, in the middle of the park. I just want to focus on my football now that this is done and dusted, and focus on getting Dungannon Swifts up the table!”
Congratulations on the new contracts, Christopher and Seanan.

SAD NEWS

Swifts Supporter, Philip Busby (left), with the late Evan Simpson and the Bet McLean League Cup.
We as a Club are deeply saddened at the news we received this morning of the passing of our dear friend, Evan Simpson.
Evan was a lifetime Swifts Supporter who will always be remembered for his assistance to any referee (from the stand!) who graced the pitch at Stangmore Park. He always carried a set of red and yellow cards with him, and wasn’t shy about flashing a few, mostly at the referee rather than any players!! Evan was always dressed immaculately as a Swifts Supporter never forgetting his blue and white scarf. He also carried with him a little note book so that he could record notes from the game and send them to the local paper.
2018 will certainly be a year to remember for many Swifts fans, but Evan in particular was delighted that his team Dungannon Swifts could lift the League Cup. He wasn’t well enough to attend the game but was delighted when he managed to get his hands on the Cup, as we posted a couple of months ago.
We would like to take the opportunity to express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Evan. We will always remember him. What a character. 💙💙💙#Swiftsfamily

COMMUNITY | Outward Focused Christmas
What a great night was had by Swifts Manager, Kris, along with some of the players, helping pack hampers for Outward Focused Christmas with the Vineyard Church, Dungannon.
Over 60 people showed up in total so hundreds in our local community are not forgotten this Christmas. Well done!
