Rodney McAree is delighted to announce that he has added a familiar and popular name to his backroom coaching staff at Stangmore Park. Recently retired Terry Fitzpatrick will join the backroom coaching staff at Dungannon Swifts for the season ahead.
Speaking about his new addition McAree commented,
“After Choka (Terry Fitzpatrick) decided to call it a day on his playing career I felt it was very important to keep him involved in a coaching capacity. He has been so well respected over the years within the dressing room it was vital for us to try to continue his involvement. It’s the beginning of a new journey for Choka and it is one which I’m sure he will thrive in!”
An equally thrilled Terry Fitzpatrick added,
“I feel very proud to be asked to stay involved with the club that I have loved from the first game I ever played. I have personal ambitions to remain in the role for the next few years, hopefully helping the club create more history along the way. I look forward to picking up experience and learning from Rodney McAree in my new role within the club. I am excited to get started!”
Congratulations on your new role Choka!

Pictured are Ian Russell, Regional Manager of Danske Bank, Mabel Winslow, Keith Boyd, Chairman of Dungannon Swifts, and Pete Snodden.
Mabel Winslow has been named a Dungannon Swifts superfan at an event held at the National Stadium at Windsor Park. The Danske Bank Premiership Superfan Award was launched back in February to recognise supporters who go the extra mile for their club.
Superfan nominations closed on 31st March 2018 with a total of 280 entries across all 12 Premiership clubs.
This superfan has been supporting the Swifts for more than 30 years in her own various ways.
She is totally dedicated to the club and it’s well respected Youth Academy where she helped out at the clubs summer camps and vountarily washes the towels for the Swifts first team after every single match. Mabel is a loyal traveller on the Swifts supporters bus, following her team all across the country to wherever they may be playing.
This season she has been quite ill and spent Christmas in hospital. This, however, did not stop her from supporting her team from her hospital bed armed with a pen, paper and a portable radio to keep track of all the Irish League games but most importantly Dungannon Swifts of course!
Friends and family were all delighted when she was well enough to attend the Bet McLean League Cup final and witness her beloved team making history by lifting the cup. She has been keeping her own scrapbook about the League Cup Final win and is still working away in the background to put it together exactly how she wants it!

All of the Danske Bank Premiership Superfan Winners.
Congratulations to Mabel from all at Dungannon Swifts, thoroughly deserved.

First Team Head Coach Rodney McAree has announced his first signing of the 2018/19 season.
Forward player MARK MCALLISTER has signed on a TWO year deal.

New signing Mark McAllister is certainly no stranger to the Stangmore Park faithful. 30 year old Mark played for Dungannon from he was just 12 years old until he left for Linfield in 2009 at 21 years old. Mark was very successful winning 3 League Titles, 3 Irish Cups and also has a County Antrim Shield to his name while at Linfield. Having had spells at both Portadown and Crusaders as well as Annagh United – McAllister rejoins Dungannon with a wealth of Irish League experience under his belt.
“I am just delighted to be back at the club where I started off at. I left almost 10 years ago and have been lucky enough to have a bit of success while I was away but I’ve always had a special feeling towards the Swifts.”
“Rod (McAree) made the decision easy for me and I was delighted that he committed his own future, as Head Coach, a few weeks back to the Club. Dungannon have always played football the right way and I just want to get back enjoying it again.”
Many Swifts fans will remember when McAllister scored the only goal for Dungannon Swifts to beat FK Suduva at Windsor Park in the first leg of our UEFA Cup opening qualifying round in 2007. Head Coach McAree is hoping for more moments like this with the forward player.
“I’m extremely happy to have signed Mark McAllister on a 2 year contract. I have known Mark for a long time and I know the strengths that he has and I know what he is capable of. We’ll both be working very hard to reach the levels we all know he can. I’m really looking forward to the opportunity of working along with him and I look forward to seeing him in a Dungannon Swifts shirt once again!”
Welcome back to Stangmore Park Mark.

Stuart Bell – Bell Fitness Studios
Dungannon Swifts first team squad have started with their end of season Fitness tests with Stuart Bell of Bell Fitness Studios, Dungannon. Some of the boys were in at the start of the week and the remainder will be in early next week to get put through their paces by the Dungannon based fitness instructor. Bell has been working along with Dungannon Rugby and Hockey Clubs over the past few seasons and is well know in the local area.
We will be working with Stuart over the off season, pre season and throughout the 2018/2019 season to get the best out of each player. Rhyss Campbell has been working closely with Stuart for the past couple of years and that hard work has clearly paid off, as you know Rhyss has just climbed his way up the ranks, signing his first 3 year contract last night
“We are delighted to have Stuart come on board with us, his expertise and guidance will be invaluable as we continue to move forward. Stuart will help improve the condition of the players as well as improving the nutritional side of things. We’re always trying to get a little more from our players and I know this will help us improve again!” – Rodney McAree
“I am really looking forward to working alongside Rodney, his staff and this bunch of lads. Rodney has been improving his squad year in year out since taking over. I’ve followed the Swifts results very closely each week since moving to Dungannon 4 years ago, and I know I can bring a new scope to these guys in terms of Strength and Conditioning” – Stuart Bell
We look forward to working with Stuart and his team at Bell Fitness Studios Dungannon.
