After having spent four seasons with us, defender Andrew Burns has been released from his contract by mutual consent.
Andrew wishes to seek a new challenge and the club have agreed to accept his request.
Head Coach Rodney McAree has stated his thoughts:
“Andrew was a pleasure to work with and has decided that he needs a new challenge at this point in his career. We are sad to see him go but I do wish him success at whatever club he moves too.”
We would like to wish Andrew all the best in his future career both on and off the field. We thank him sincerely for all his efforts during his four years at DSFC and thanks also goes to his family for all their committed support.

Dungannon Swifts have completed our second summer signing with the arrival of former Sheffield Wednesday and Ballinamallard defender Liam McMenamin.
The 28 year old is a combative right back, but is equally comfortable playing in the centre of defence or in midfield, and comes with plenty of Danske Bank Premiership experience.
McMenamin has represented Northern Ireland at under 21 level, and most recently had a short spell at Stabane Athletic.
Swifts boss Rodney McAree was delighted with his new acquisition, and commented:
“Liam is a player I’ve always admired, strong, competitive and very good on the ball. He is comfortable at right back, centre half and also in midfield I’m delighted he has signed a 2 year deal with ourselves. A quality addition!”
Speaking about putting pen to paper for the Swifts, McMenamin described the move as a ‘fresh start’, and said it was an easy decision to sign for the club.
Liam said:
“I am delighted to be joining the Swifts. I have always had a great admiration for Rodney (McAree), and the way the Swifts play football should suit me perfect. As soon as Rodney had shown an interest to sign me it was an easy decision.”
He continued:
“This is a fresh start at a fantastic club, with the desire to do better and keep progressing in the league. I feel I can bring some experience, some good football, as well as a bit of bite which might have got me in some bother in recent games against the Swifts! I can’t wait to get started and I am looking forward to the challenge.”

Head Coach Rodney McAree has tonight rewarded the highly talented teenager Caolin Coyle with his first professional football contract.
Caolin is part of the Northern Ireland Under 18 School Boys team who won the Victory Shield this year, during which time he even managed to chip in with a goal against England. He has previously represented his Country at Under 16 level also.
Defender Coyle progressed through Dungannon United Youth from under 13/14 age and this season played at both Under 20/17 level at Dungannon Swifts. He regularly trained with the first team and was deservedly rewarded a few games on the bench near the end of season and a starting XI place against Portadown at Stangmore Park. In total he scored 13 goals for the club during 2016/17 season.
At just 17 years old, Coyle who comes from Magherafelt, has signed his first professional contract which will see him remain at the club for a further two seasons.
Rodney McAree speaks about rewarding Coyle with contract:
“I am over the moon that Caolin has signed his first professional contract and committed to us for a further two seasons. He is a great lad with tons of talent. I believe he has the capabilities to become a fulltime professional at a high level so hopefully we can provide a platform for him to achieve that.”
Speaking about signing his contract an ecstatic Coyle said:
“It feels amazing to have signed a professional contract when I’m just 17. It shows me that Rod (McAree) and the team trust in me to ‘do a job’ in the squad. Having come up through the youth set up, I feel it just proves to people what hard work can do. If you put your head down, you do get rewarded.”
Caolin continued:
“I feel that I can bring pace and energy to the game as I will be preferably playing at a right back position. I am really looking forward to getting involved even more next season.”

Dungannon Swifts are pleased to announce our first summer signing – the return of midfielder Ryan Mayse to the club.
The Newtownstewart man previously spent three seasons with the Swifts, having come up through the Dungannon United Youth set up, so is no stranger to Stangmore Park.
The versatile 23 year old had a spell with Strathroy Harps, and now has top level Irish League experience, having racked up an impressive ten goals with Ballinamallard United last term, and is sure to be a valuable addition to Rodney McAree’s squad.
Speaking about signing for the Swifts, Ryan said:
“From the minute I left I’ve always wanted to get back here. I loved every minute whilst I was here the first time, but I moved to Strathroy Harps to get more game time in adult football and mature, and to be honest it has made me the player that I am today making that move! When word came that Rodney was interested in taking me back I didn’t have to think twice. I would like to thank Strathroy and especially Seamus Fathorpe, for helping make this move to Dungannon possible as well as everyone at Ballinamallard, both clubs were instrumental in getting me back to where I am.”
Ryan continued:
“I feel I can bring a lot to the Swifts. I can play in a quite a few positions across the team and Rodney has explained to me that he knows my capabilities, and has total faith in me that I can play apart in the club moving forward. Getting to the Irish Cup semi-final just shows what this club is capable off. By all accounts with a bit of luck on the day Dungannon could have progressed to the final and anything could have happened then!”
Swifts boss Rodney McAree added:
“I’m delighted with the signing of Ryan. I’ve known him for a long time and he’ll be a terrific addition to the squad, he is a very talented player with an eye for goal. I can’t wait to start working with him in pre-season! My thanks to Gavin (Dykes) and Ballinamallard for their co-operation to make this happen!”

We are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder/forward Peter McMahon.
Peter, 27, who brings plenty of experience with him, joins the club on a one year deal and he can’t wait to get involved.
Speaking to us last night Peter said…
“The fact the Swifts play good football really made me want to join the club. I watched last season and anytime I seen them play I thought ‘they play the game the right way’ and that has attracted me to the club without a doubt.”
“I’m really happy to be a Swifts player now and can’t wait to get down to business on the pitch!”
A delighted head coach Rodney Mcaree has plenty of praise for his new signing;
“Peter is a wonderful talent, someone who I’ve admired as a player playing in the Irish League, it is a superb signing for Dungannon Swifts and we are delighted to have him!”
The talented midfielder/forward established himself as a key man for Portadown, before injury and registration woes saw him consigned to the sidelines. Only last summer the former Bohemians man was reported to be attracting interest from around the Irish League, his signing comes as a major boost to the club.
