TRANSFER NEWS | Winger signs for Swifts

The transfer window may not be officially open yet but Swifts Manager, Kris Lindsay, isn’t hanging about to wait for it to open, having jumped at the chance to sign a former Dungannon United Youth Player.

Lindsay has agreed terms with former Patrick Thistle, Sligo Rovers and Finn Harps winger, Caolan McAleer, to sign for Dungannon Swifts. Caolan will be available for selection from January.

“I played at Dungannon United Youth when I was younger so I know what the Club is all about. It’s a Tyrone team, I’m from Tyrone and I’ve always kept an eye out to see how they’ve been doing. I am hoping that I can add excitement and hard work but also chip in with goals and assists to the team. Personally at a team level I want to get the Club up as high as possible in the league and away from the current league position.” New Signing – Caolan McAleer

“I am delighted to get Caolan McAleer over the line and signed for the next 18 months. He is a quality addition to the squad, he will give us more options in forward areas and brings that little bit of experience to the squad that we are lacking a little bit. He has been playing in the league of Ireland. I am excited to get working with him and seeing what he can do, come the New Year when he can play. He’s a good lad, he has been training with us the last couple of weeks. His quality is shining through in training with the other lads.
We will look to freshen the squad up in January and hopefully Caolan will be the first of a couple go signings, that we can get in across the line, to try and push us on!”
Manager – Kris Lindsay

Welcome back to Dungannon, Caolan, and to Stangmore Park in particular. We wish you every success in a Dungannon Shirt.

“Of course it’s great to be offered a contract extension and it would be hard to turn down. I’m settling in well at Dungannon and don’t see myself at any other club at this point in my career. I aim to get more game time this season and progress as a player. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the season and progressing under Kris Lindsay and the coaching staff.” BEN GALLAGHER

“I’m delighted to get Ben to sign a contract extension. He is a talented, talented young man, who has done very well in his fleeting appearances for the first team so far. He has got massive amounts of potential and I’m excited to see what Ben brings over the coming months and coming seasons. It’s up to him now to continue that development and to work hard, he’s got all the attributes to be a top, top player. As I said I am delighted to get him secure for the next number of years and see what it brings.” Manager – KRIS LINDSAY
