TRANSFER NEWS | Forward Out

The Club would like to inform supporters that Paul McElroy has officially left Dungannon Swifts and will be joining Crusaders Football Club.
Unfortunately we were left with no option other than to place Paul on the transfer list as disappointingly he was refusing to play for his hometown Club.
We thank him for his service to Dungannon Swifts.

TRANSFER NEWS | Double Signing for the Swifts

Dungannon Swifts FC is delighted to announce the signings of Ross Redman and Sean Noble.

Ross Redman, 29, joins the Swifts after he was placed on the Transfer list at Glentoran FC. The defender had spent the last three seasons at The Oval, making 104 first team appearances, after signing from Portadown FC in June 2016 and will add a wealth of experience to the Squad.

Sean Noble, 23, has joined the club after spells with Ballinamallard FC and most recently Ards but unfortunately suffered a bad injury to his ACL in the second game of last season which ruled him out for a year so he is chomping at the bit to get started wearing the blue of Dungannon Swifts FC.

“I’m delighted to sign here, it’s a great club and you can see from the start of the season that there is a lot of quality here. Luckily enough I have already played with a lot of the players in the squad so hopefully its going to be very easy settling in with the lads and I’m really looking forward to getting started.

“I’ve known Kris for 10-12 years and as soon as I heard what Kris’ project was I was immediately sold and I was delighted to come down. Obviously, I’ve been out injured since the end of last year so I’m really looking forward to getting game time and hopefully can help the club push on.”

Ross Redman

“I’m raring to go at Dungannon as I have been out injured for a year. I got injured in the second game of the season against Glentoran which was a set back but my main aim is to get myself back fit and scoring goals when given the opportunity.

“The style of football attracted me to the Swifts as they like to play an expansive, attacking game but also keeping it tight at the back. I like to run in behind defenders and with the quality of passers that Dungannon possess in the midfield will only benefit me scoring goals.

“I can definitely see the top 6 of the league being within reach for the club and a good run in either of the cup competitions would be even better, but we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves and get too over optimistic, we’ll just take each game as it comes.”

Sean Noble

A delighted Kris Lindsay had this to say about his latest additions;

“Yeah, I’m delighted to get Ross and Sean signed and over the line. Ross will bring good experience into the squad having been about the Irish League for quite some time and its a position we are a little bit short on at full back. Ross will have a little point to prove and is looking a fresh challenge and hopefully we will give that to him. l would like to thank Glentoran for working with us to get the deal over the line.

“Sean is a forward player. Big, strong and athletic and with lots of quality but has been unfortunate with injury after hurting his ACL in the second game of last season with Ards. He will add strength and depth to our squad in the forward areas and I’m delighted to get him on board.

“I’m really looking forward to working with them both and seeing them both in Dungannon Swifts jerseys.”

Caomhan joins us on loan from Linfield FC and Adam has recently relocated back home after living in Scotland for the past few years. Manager Kris Lindsay spoke about his new signings to us this evening;

“I am delighted to get Adam and Caomhan on board with us at Dungannon Swifts. Caomhan joins us on loan from Linfield FC and Adam in for a year. They can both play centre half and can both also play right back. They are young players, Caomhan is coming from Linfield to gain experience and gain minutes, they have high hopes for him down at Linfield. Hopefully we can give that opportunity to play minutes and progress and do well for Dungannon Swifts. He’s a good kid and one that I’m really looking forward to working with.

“Adam comes with a wee bit more experience, he’s played in Scotland for Dundee a number of years ago. He’s been living in Scotland the last few years but he’s moved back home now so I’m happy to get him in. He’s been in with us during pre season and he’s impressed us. It gives us a little more depth, defensively, which was an area where we were a little bit light in numbers.

“Once again I would like to place on record my thanks to Linfield FC and David Healy, for the way in which they have went about their business, in letting Caomhan join Ryan (Waide) on loan with us at Dungannon Swifts.”

Manager – Kris Lindsay

Nineteen year old McGuinness, who signed for Linfield FC in June 2017, was previously with Belfast side, St Oliver Plunkett FC, he made his first team debut for Linfield in October 2018 and has been on the radar of Linfield Manager, David Healy ever since. He was on top of the world tonight after enjoying his first training session at the club;

“I am looking forward to getting games under my belt. I didn’t get much game time at Linfield with the first team, so hopefully coming here on loan I can get that time. I couldn’t wait to get involved at training tonight, it was great!”

New signing – Caomhan McGuinness

Twenty-four year old Harwood has a bit more experience under his belt as he has previously played for Dundee United and more recently Montrose FC and Broughty Athletic. He was on the books of both Portadown FC and Glenavon FC before his move to Scotland. Adam spoke to us tonight after training and had this to say;

“Obviously moving back from Scotland I’ve been keeping in touch with Kris (Lindsay) back and forth. I came and done pre season with the Swifts and felt it went pretty well, I got a good welcome from all the lads and now I’m just really looking forward to the season starting. I can’t complain about much at the moment I’ve been away for seven years and it’s so good to get back at it.”

New signing – Adam Harwood

Caomhan will wear the number 20 shirt and Adam will wear number 26. Ryan Waide will wear number 21. Finally we would like to officially welcome to Dungannon Swifts, Caomhan and Adam. Good luck lads!
