With one week to go until the Danske Bank Premiership 2019/20 Kicks off, Swifts Manager, Kris Lindsay has made a move to bring in striker, Ryan Waide, on loan, from Linfield FC.
Nineteen year old Waide, will join us at Stangmore Park until January 2020. He comes to Dungannon with a wealth of Irish League experience, despite his young age. Ryan has played for Linfield since he was 8 years old, and has completed loan spells at both Ards and Carrick Rangers.
Ryan, who has represented Northern Ireland at U16/17 & most recently U19 level can’t wait to get started with us;
“I am absolutely buzzing to sign and I can’t wait to get going next week, and play as many games as I can in my time at Dungannon. Hopefully I can continue to gel with the boys even more, they have been immense with me already, which makes it so much easier to settle in. Looking to the season ahead, hopefully I can score a lot of goals to help the boys out and of course help the Club onto bigger and better things!”
Striker – Ryan Waide
Manager Kris Lindsay was equally as happy as Ryan;
“I’m delighted to get Ryan on board, on loan from Linfield. Again, he is a young, hungry player, with a point to prove. He is a natural goal scorer. It’s maybe something we have been lacking a little bit over pre season and he gives us another option up there. I am really looking forward to getting to work with him, and seeing him in action and hopefully scoring a few goals for the Swifts. I’d also just like to say thanks to Linfield, David Healy in particular, for letting this loan deal happen and the professional way they have went about it.”
Manager – Kris Lindsay
Ryan will wear the number 26 shirt this season. Welcome to Stangmore Park Ryan, we wish you every success as a Dungannon Swifts player.
Swifts defender, David Armstrong has left the Club after having his contract terminated by mutual consent.
Manager Kris Lindsay wished to express his thanks to David,
Thanks to David for all the efforts he has put in during my time at the Club and for the years before me. He was certainly a fans favourite having helped the Club to our first ever Senior Trophy. I’d like to wish him well for the future in the path that he takes and once again thank you, Davy.

Joining us at Stangmore Park, so far this summer we have welcomed, Callum Byers, Sam Johnston, Craig Taylor, Dylan King, Michael Carvill and Connor Byrne.
Swifts Manager, Kris Lindsay, has secured the signature of former Crusaders forward, MICHAEL CARVILL. Michael spent the later half of last season with us at Stangmore Park, on a loan deal. However, he enjoyed his time so much at Dungannon, we are delighted to announce that he has officially signed a one year deal, as a Dungannon Swifts player for 2019/20.
Carvill is an experienced Irish League player having spent seven years with Linfield FC, where he was part of three double-winning sides. He then signed for Crusaders in June 2015 where he went on to win two Senior League Titles and a Country Antrim Shield.
Kris Lindsay said; “I am delighted to get Michael over the line. He is a player with lots of experience and will bring massive positives not only on the pitch but also in the changing room. We obviously had Michael on loan last season, frustratingly he had a few niggling injuries that hampered him but in the last 3/4 games of the season we got a glimpse of the quality he possesses. I am looking forward to him taking that into the season ahead. “
Michael Carvill has this to say;“I came down here last year and got injured early on which is a bet of a set back, but as soon as I came down and seen the Club obviously I really enjoyed it. I saw the opportunity to get out and play football something that it very, very important obviously. The Club welcomed me with open arms during my loan deal, during which I didn’t really do exactly how I wanted to do, as the injury killed me a bit. Now I am here and will get a season under my belt and really push on from there. There is so much going on in the league at the minute with talk about full time, clubs doing this and big signings coming in, more money and involvement. A Club like Dungannon have to accept those challenges and really look forward to it. There are going to be big games here and it’s going to be tough, there is no point lying about it. When I look round the changing room and see the players that Kris has, there is definitely something we can work with here and definitely something we can challenge. Why not go out and try and win every game, thats the whole purpose. The club just has to focus on each game at a time, it’s very exciting for us all.”
Welcome back to Stangmore Park, Michael. We wish you well for the season ahead, good luck in a Dungannon Swifts shirt!
Kris Lindsay has bolstered his squad with the addition of Centre Half, Dylan King. The twenty year old, Northern Ireland Youth International, has put pen to paper on a two year deal after being released from Coleraine FC, where he spent the second half of least season.
King has previously been on the books of institute FC back in 2015 before making the move across the water to Oldham Athletic, where be played for their Under 18 team. After a spell with the League Two club, King then moved up north to Motherwell, Scotland, where he spent a year at SPFL sides U20 set-up before making the move back to the Irish League, to Glenavon FC.
Tyrone lad, King, is happy to have signed for the only Premier League Club in his County;
“A big influence for me to come to Dungannon is obviously Kris, the Manager. I worked with him at Glenavon. We had a great relationship in the past and hopefully that can carry on through here at Dungannon. I just really want to get my foot in the door, get a starting place and nail down a shirt. Hopefully I will kick on from there as I’ve been in and out of the team at the last two clubs I have been at. I want to concentrate on getting regular games and cut out any silly mistakes, trying to improve my consistency. Forming good relationships with the players around you at centre half is also important, especially with the goalkeeper, these are things I plan to work on to improve my own personal game. My main aim is to enjoy the season with Dungannon and see where it takes us.”
New signing – Dylan King
Manager Kris Lindsay is delighted to have got Dylan to sign on the dotted line.
I am delighted to get Dylan over the line. I’ve known Dylan for a while now since my time at Glenavon. Unfortunately it didn’t work out for him at Glenavon and Coleraine but hopefully we will now give him that platform to play games of football and realise his potential. Dylan has got all the attributes to be a top, top centre half. It’s about playing games for Dylan and we can give him that opportunity. I’ve no doubts he will grow into be a good, good centre half. I am looking forward to working with Dylan.
Manager – Kris Lindsay
Welcome to Stangmore Park, Dylan and we wish you every success in a Swifts shirt.
IN OTHER TRANSFER NEWS: Centre half, David Armstrong, has been placed on the transfer list.
Meet sixteen year old, Sean McAllister, one of four DSFC teenage sensations, leaping across the pond this summer having all signed for English Football Clubs.
Despite sustaining a broken leg in his last ever game for Dungannon Swifts in May, Sean leaves with fantastic memories, as he scored to help the boys defeat Portadown FC, in the Mid Ulster Youth Cup Final. What a way to sign off his Swifts Career! Sean will be leaving Dungannon Swifts to join Everton FC and we wish him every success in his future career.
How did you get in to football ? My daddy always wanted me to get involved in football but I always played Gaelic and hurling from a young age. When I was about 7 years old, my Gaelic coach told me and my brother to come along to Chimney Corner FC to see what we thought, and ever since then I’ve just loved playing football. What is your best moment in football? This is a hard one I’ve had many memorable moments in football, from winning the Milk Cup with my County (Antrim) or winning the Victory Shield with my Country, Northern Ireland. This had only ever been done once in one hundred years by Northern Ireland before we won it, so this was an amazing bit of History to be part of. My best moment to date has to probably being offered a contract to become a Professional Footballer. It’s something I’ve always dreamed about and wanted to be and now my dream really has came true. What are your ambitions in the game? My ambitions for the game are to work as hard as I can every day in training and learn from my coaches as much as I can. I want to improve my game for when I step on to the pitch to play, so that one day I will hopefully play for Everton’s first team at Goodison Park. What made you choose your new club? I also had an offer from Celtic FC in Scotland, but I felt that Everton was the right club for me. This decision was based purely on the same reason that I chose to play for Dungannon; when I picked to go to Dungannon they have that feeling of a family club and I wasn’t wrong. I also feel Everton will improve me to make me into the footballer I want to be, to hopefully have a long professional carrier in the game and make it to the highest level as possible. What are you most looking forward to? The thing I’m most looking forward to is waking up every morning to put my boots on and going out to enjoy the thing I love doing the most while daily improving myself, and learning more and more about the game.
Head of Youth Development at Stangmore Park, Dixie Robinson had this to say,
“Sean has played in various positions in his time from right back to the main striker. He is a very strong and mobile boy. Sean’s all round game intelligence is astounding for such a young player.”
Good Luck, Sean, from everyone at Dungannon Swifts Football Club.
