Forward Peter McMahon has today put pen to paper at Stangmore Park which will see us retain him for at least one more season.
Twenty eight year old McMahon, who can also play in an attacking midfield role, joined us in September last season and has showed very promising displays.
Head Coach McAree is delighted that Peter has signed a new deal:
“I am delighted Peter has agreed to sign for another season with Dungannon Swifts, Peter done extremely well for us last season coming back after a lengthy lay off and with a good pre season under his belt I’m sure we will see even more of his qualities this coming season!”
Striker Jamie Douglas has not been offered a new contract.
We wish to take the opportunity to thank Jamie for his effort and commitment to Dungannon Swifts during his time with us. We wish him well in the future
Thanks Jamie and good luck.

Dungannon Swifts have completed our second summer signing with the arrival of former Sheffield Wednesday and Ballinamallard defender Liam McMenamin.
The 28 year old is a combative right back, but is equally comfortable playing in the centre of defence or in midfield, and comes with plenty of Danske Bank Premiership experience.
McMenamin has represented Northern Ireland at under 21 level, and most recently had a short spell at Stabane Athletic.
Swifts boss Rodney McAree was delighted with his new acquisition, and commented:
“Liam is a player I’ve always admired, strong, competitive and very good on the ball. He is comfortable at right back, centre half and also in midfield I’m delighted he has signed a 2 year deal with ourselves. A quality addition!”
Speaking about putting pen to paper for the Swifts, McMenamin described the move as a ‘fresh start’, and said it was an easy decision to sign for the club.
Liam said:
“I am delighted to be joining the Swifts. I have always had a great admiration for Rodney (McAree), and the way the Swifts play football should suit me perfect. As soon as Rodney had shown an interest to sign me it was an easy decision.”
He continued:
“This is a fresh start at a fantastic club, with the desire to do better and keep progressing in the league. I feel I can bring some experience, some good football, as well as a bit of bite which might have got me in some bother in recent games against the Swifts! I can’t wait to get started and I am looking forward to the challenge.”
