We are pleased to announce a fourth new addition to the playing squad for the 2012/13 season, former Ards striker, Stephen Doyle, has signed for two years.
Twenty-three year old Cookstown lad is a product of Dungannon United Youth and has spent the past few seasons playing for Ards in the Championship whilst also having fitted in a spell at Loughgall.
Speaking to us this evening Stephen said, ” I couldn’t turn down the fantastic opportunity of playing Premiership football that Murph presented me with. I grew up coming through the ranks at Dungannon United Youth and as I come from Cookstown the closest Premiership Club to me is The Swifts. Just like every other lad in Cookstown I wanted to play for the Swifts. I am delighted to be getting the chance to be a first team player again. The facilities at Dungannon are some of the best in the country and they certainly helped make the decision very easy for me, even though Murph had already sold the club well to me. All I have left to say now is that I’m looking forward to getting involved in a matter of weeks at Stangmore Park and hopefully we can improve on the league position from last season.”
Welcome to Stangmore Park Stephen and we wish you every success in a Swifts Shirt.
