Reflecting on a week that will forever hold a special place in my heart and all at Dungannon Swifts Football Club, I am filled with gratitude and pride. The support we received has exceeded my wildest expectations, showcasing the true spirit of togetherness that defines our club and its fans.

On Saturday, May 3rd, we achieved the remarkable feat of lifting The Clearer Water Irish Cup Trophy, a moment that will be etched in the history of our club. The passion and determination exhibited by our players on the pitch were nothing short of inspiring. They played their hearts out, embodying the hard work and dedication that we all value. This victory is not just a testament to their skills but also a reflection of the unwavering support from our community.

I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge our incredible manager Rodney McAree, and his backroom staff. Their commitment to the team and strategic insights have been paramount in guiding us through this season. Each training session, every game, and all the behind-the-scenes efforts culminated in a triumphant moment that we will cherish forever.

To our supporters SO49 both past and present—thank you. Your enthusiasm, loyalty, and encouragement have been a driving force for our team. Whether you cheered from the stands, wore our colours proudly, your support has been invaluable. You have not only uplifted the team during times of triumph but have also stood by us during challenging moments. This victory is yours as much as it is ours.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the countless volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to the club. From organizing events to managing logistics on match days, their efforts often go unnoticed. Your hard work is the backbone of Dungannon Swifts, and it is deeply appreciated.

I also want to recognise my committee members who tirelessly contribute their expertise and insights to help nurture the club. A special shoutout goes to my right-hand men, Adrian Whitte, and Simon Graham, whose support has been instrumental to me. Together, we have faced challenges, celebrated victories, and built a strong foundation for Dungannon Swifts.

On a personal note, I also want to recognize my partner, Wendy. Her unwavering support week in and week out has been crucial. Balancing family and the demands of running a football club is no easy feat, and her understanding and encouragement have kept me grounded. To my family, thank you for your patience and love, which have been my anchor through this incredible journey, especially over the past few weeks when we all have faced our biggest fear and lost our beloved Dad.

Looking ahead, I am optimistic about the future. The past week has reinforced my belief that when we work together, we can achieve great things. My hope is that we continue to grow Dungannon Swifts alongside our community. As we bask in the glory of our Irish Cup victory, let’s carry this momentum forward. Together, we can build an even brighter future for our club and ensure that we remain a source of pride for Dungannon and beyond. Thank you all for being a part of this extraordinary journey.

Keith Boyd,
DSFC Chairman.
